5 Intentional Ways to Raise Your Vibration
I woke up today. Alive, with the entirety of my fully functioning faculties, praise be to God. But as the lyrics go, “To live doesn’t mean you’re alive” (Nicki Minaj & Drake, 2010).
I felt "okay"—I knew it was Wednesday and I felt active enough to go about my day—but something felt off. I felt low. In that moment, I sought wisdom, and wisdom showed up. I realised that my mind, body, and spirit needed a deliberate lift.
I hope whoever needs this finds it. Here are five intentional ways to raise your vibration and return to your centre.
1. Get Up, Get Ready & Create a SanctuaryIf you are lucky enough to be working from home (or "working from bed", as a friend of mine brazenly put it), it is easy to slip into the "casual nature" of your comfort zone. But nothing grows there.
To initiate a nervous system reset, you must change your physical state. Get up. Have a shower—hot or cold, whichever is your preference. Hydrate, eat well, moisturise, and dress with intentionality. Most importantly, set the mood for your day; light an aromatherapy candle to signal to your brain that it’s time to be present and "smell good".
I recall seeing my dad neatly dressed, sitting in the living room with an intentionality that commanded authority. He wasn’t going anywhere, but as he told me: “Nowhere, but I’m prepared.” When you prepare your body, your spirit follows.
2. Speak Up! Use Affirmations for Spiritual Alignment
In 2026, we have moved past the idea that positive affirmations are merely modern-day clichés—they are actually powerful tools for nervous system regulation. The absence of positive self-talk is often a telling sign that negative internal dialogue has taken hold.
Do not be afraid to "look crazy" by talking to yourself. Make a list of 5–10 affirmations and repeat them throughout your day; make them personal to you. Here are a few of my personal anchors for spiritual alignment:
I am for signs and wonders.
God perfects that which concerns me.
My gates shall be continuously open and never closed.
I am more than a conqueror; I am a champion.
3. Two Ears, One Mouth: Curate Your Content
Gossip is juicy, but is it worth the squeeze? That is a rhetorical question. When you are waiting for the right words, all words sound right. Be diligent about what you pay attention to on both a conscious and subconscious level.
To elevate your daily frequency, swap the gossip for content that genuinely builds you up:
Create a playlist of songs that uplift you and enjoy yourself.
Look for relatable, inspirational interviews.
Listen to motivational speeches that challenge your perspective.
4. Meditate: The Power of the "Micro-Reset"
Meditation is often misunderstood. For my fellow non-yogis, let me simplify: think of it as a somatic practice—focusing your attention on your breathing whilst tuning out the world around you.
The constant demand for our attention leads to misalignment in our mind, body, and spirit. Meditation allows you to reset to "default", helping you become centred once more. You do not need to sit for hours; focus on the process, not the duration. Whether you sit in silence or use the calming scents of essential oils to ground your senses, these micro-meditations are vital for your wellbeing.
5. Mediate: Be a Miracle for Someone Else
No one is an island, and even if that were the case, you could build a bridge. You have been through things that someone else is currently navigating, and vice versa. Whenever you extend your hand to help or heal, you raise the collective vibration.
