I always hated being stuck in traffic until I realised I was part of the traffic. We often view delays as obstacles to our productivity, but what if these forced moments of stillness are actually the resets we didn't know we needed?

In a society that glorifies the hustle culture, being "busy" has become a badge of honour. We fill every "in-between" moment with scrolling, planning, or working, afraid that if we stop, we’ll fall behind. However, true wellness and mindfulness aren't found in the speed of our routines, but in the quality of our pauses.

Sometimes, life doesn’t ask us to slow down; it forces us to. Whether it’s an unexpected delay, an illness, or a season of waiting, these periods can feel frustrating.

You don't need a week-long retreat to find peace. You can practice self-care and stillness in the middle of a chaotic schedule:

  1. The Two-Minute Pause: Between tasks, sit with your hands in your lap and simply breathe.

  2. Digital Detox: Put your phone in another room during your morning tea or evening wind-down.

  3. Active Stillness: Use moments like sitting in traffic or standing in a queue to practice patience rather than checking your emails.
